Urgent Help, Transmission
« on: March 02, 2010, 07:02:54 PM »
I just did my replacement shifter bolt, using this sites procedure to do so.

I replaced the bolt, put the housing back on and bolt it up and it wont go into gear/or out of gear

It appears to be in gear since when I start it, let off clutch- it dies.
It free rolls but makes a clunk clunk clunk when doing so.
It does not move when started and attempting.

Please help... it is quite urgent and seems like a fix many of you veterans might know about?

double check your work.  are you 100% sure you've got the right parts in the right spots?

All i did was the shifter bolt, nothing else.

From what im aware of, I took it out and put it back the same way.

The original post now has a picture of the transmission looking down

im not 100% sure, i was wondering if someone had some tips or a checklist of some sort to use to make sure.

i know this is an oollllllllllllldddd thread, but ima jack it anyways because i have the same problem.
for awhile my zuk would have problems with sticking in first gear like it would go into gear too far and would stick so you'd have to take the shifter out and pop it out of gear with a screwdriver, well now it stuck again so we fixed it how we usually do and put it all back together but now it wont wont to go into any gear and is stuck once again in first, cant really seem to figure out what the problem is, any help here guys?

Sounds like the shifter "sheet" which is a plastic part that holds the
ball portion at the bottom of the shifter, and when it wears the shifter
gets stuck like you are saying.

Contact Hawks Suzuki for a replacement part

You need to pull the stick out, click with a screw driver and replace the sheet,
it will not be drivable until fixed
