Can anyone tell me what mods needs to be done to run this locker in the rear of a sidekick?  I understand its an easy mod but haven't heard the details...  Thanks.

I just spoke with Brent at TT...
Sounds like the Spartan will work with early Sidekicks (pre '96 I assume?).
Notes: Remove sidegear shims, use original cross pins, and may need to grind square block to make sure crosspins fit nicely and cause NO bind.
Thanks for the info Brent! :)

What would be the advantage of this when there is a kit already available by Lock Rite?
I want to lock the rear soon...preferably while I'm doing rear axle work soon.  Isn't the Spartan just like the Lock Rite and the Detroit that used to be available?  Same basic principle of operation, but is there something different about the Spartan?

I saw one of these at the ZW BBQ in Moab, the design is similar, but
there is a set of really beefy pins that I have never seen on another
locker, and those pins, when they break, stop the locker from working.

I'm going to try these as soon as I'm ready to setup some new diffs

Wild,
sounds interesting.
But, again, what would be the advantage of using a Spartan, modified to fit in a Tracker housing, rather than a LockRight that is manufactured for a Tracker?
It might be best for me to just call Brent at TT to ask his opinion, but does anyone on this board know the advantage?

Probably no advantage, other than the lower price of the Spartan locker.  To me, the design was nearly identical.

The larger pins would be the advantage, the Lock-right has about a 1/4" pin
and these looked like ohh, 5/16 or perhaps a little larger, and the lower price
is never a bad thing, so long as the quality is there, if it is junk, then it's not
worth Monopoly money

Yeah, but I think the stock axles are weaker than the lock-rite pins already.  That is, I've seen many an axle chewed up before the locker pins broke.

Well, ya that might be true, but that's not what the pins are there for, and
they take a lot of abuse with all the banging the lockers do.

Remember my brothers white 4 door on Top Of The World trail when we
broke the drivers side rear axle? well a few weeks later we pulled it apart
and found several broken pins in his locker, as well as the grenaded shaft
and busted up 5.62s gears  :'( :'( :'(

BRD HNTR was wondering what the end result was from that.  Can you get the gears re-welded or are they to far gone?

Yeah, I tweaked an axle housing, twisted an axle, and broke a pin on Pritchett Canyon.  Stuff happens.

Drone-from the pics, they looked like toast.
