Installed the gm alternator bracket from roadless gear a couple months ago. When installed the pulley on the new alternator was about a 3/4 of an inch behind the other pulleys. So a little hammer adjustment was needed to get them in line. About a month later started hearing a vibration, well one of the arms on the bracket fell off due to poor welds. Called roadless gear to tell them the story and they did replace it for free, (the only good thing they did.) Got my new one and the welds were so poor that i had to grind them all off and re-weld the whole thing. These things look like a 5 year old picked up a welder and tried to build them. Just wanted to warn anyone looking for these brackets, i would get them from another company!

Really sucks when you pay for turd welds....I do some welding for a few companies on the side and you'd be amased how many "new" machines that I fix. The guys buy a new machine and bring it to me to check the welds. It's not normally the big pieces that are welded bad but alot of brackets....a broken bracket will stop a machine and then they loose money.

Alot of people are buying the cheap import bikes and these have some nice welds.......I just cringe when I think kids are flyig around on these. I bought a buggy and it wasn't too bad but I looked at the whole thing.....all import welds are done by 6 year olds.

bought my G.M. alternator setup though Petroworks  three years ago NEVER have had any issue with it good quality work . Ran in to one of the older guys with the company a year ago and he was as friendly as can be to talk Sammy's with. Would recommend them to any and everyone!

Has anybody taken a stock alternator to a electric rebuild shop? I've been told that you just have to replace a few parts inside. Its probably a little more complicated than that but its worth a shot.

I had my stock done at a alternator shop for awhile. The GM is just so reliable and simple. I am still running the first GM alt I put in and it has been at least 10 years.

Hand" down Gary's kit from PetroWorks is the kit to get. Plug and play well though out. This guy doesn't build crap. He is a machinist by trade. Every part is well designed.No modifying, grinding of any kind. Been doing business with him well over 11 years. With ZERO issues.
