Just got a 95 two door geo tracker. I will be using it about half off road, and half highway. So I want to improve the offroad performance just a little bit, but not get too crazy with it as to affect highway riding and not cost too much.

I was thinking maybe just trying some coil spacers and bigger/wider tires.

What tires are recommended with 1.5inch coil spacers? Also, should I do away with the stock rims?

Thanks for the links. Just curious, and I hope this isn't a dumb question, but I dont see the advantage of the wheel spacers. I assume they give you a wider stance, but what exactly does this yield in performance?

I feel that the wider stance as you increase height lessens (hopefully) rollover possibilities.......besides, it looks cool!!!!

I can see that. My offroading will almost always be on level ground, with no rock crawling and such, so I think rollover would rarely be a problem. My main concern is just making it through mud and sand. I was thinking that wider tires would increase surface area, thus resulting in less sinking in sand/mud.

Or should I just go for bigger diameter tires for the extra height?

my 90 kick is a daily driver (30 minute drive each way on the highway)

ive got 235/75r15's and will be throwing a 2" coil spacer lift and rear mini spool. its already great offroad with only the 235's but all my local zuk boys are sammies on 30-31's... gotta get mine locked and up in the air.
with 235 and 2" spacers you should get 30X9.5's under it.

Thanks again guys. Another question I just thought of is whether or not I need to do any other modifications after adding the spacers? Different springs/shocks? Just remember, simplicity and low cost are my main concerns. 

jeffs spacers are great. im adding a rear upper control arm spacer to mine when i lift it just cause ive heard it helps if it does bind (mixed results if it binds or not)

rear shocks need to be swapped for aftermarket ones that are longer (lots of threads about that, most use 95 ish mustang rear shocks)

Ok, would the mustang shocks be good performance wise, or should I get some offroad type shocks for a little more?

its been questioned over and over but cheap aftermarket shocks (cheap as you can) work the best. most offroad shocks are valved for heavier trucks. mustang shocks are the right length and the cheap ones react properly for our trucks weight. (on a mustang it would bounce to much going down the road)

Very interesting Mike! I guess this is one of those rare occasions where cheaper is actually better. I guess I'll go with the 'stang shocks then.
