The 2L has a timing chain rather than a belt... check the tension. They do normally make some noise until warm up, but it shouldn't be excessive.
As in the chains (plural) making noise? Not at all - in fact timing chain noise at startup is not a good sign.
The early V6 engines in the Suzuki GrandVitara are known for timing chain issues, later ones have had a redesigned tensioner that cures the problem, but the I4 engines have never had this problem, so if you have a 2.0 I4 with a noisy chain at startup, you need to get it looked at.
Start by changing the oil to a 10w30 if you're not already using it and see if that helps.
