OK-OK----I concede--They're not all ugly ducklings---Actually some of em look like pretty tough little rigs---What is a rear spool?

The litttle Zebra I posted---Guy says it only has 45K on it original miles---It's a 91 and sat for years unattended---paint was fried so he zebra'd it---Says after pics were taken he put a 1,5 lift with 225x75x15 tires, new brakes and cv joints----BUT---also says it has oil leak at bottom pan gasket and at  valve cover gasket---Says he had a garage do compression test and it's at factory specs---It's a 5 speed with 2 speed transfer and manual locking hubs---He wants $2000 for it and says it runs perfectly---You guys got any opinions on this---

I won't debate superiority of OME versus Calmini, but I will disagree when it comes to the Calmini lower arms being superflous - they are longer and compensate for the camber change that occurs when the vehicle is lifted with the standard arm.

It's superfluous because you can adjust the camber without it. I've adjusted my OME struts twice now - once when I installed them - and again when I added the weight of the front bumper & winch. Takes a little love with a die grinder or dremel, but it only took me about 10 min a side to get the camber adjusted.

It's superfluous because you can adjust the camber without it. I've adjusted my OME struts twice now - once when I installed them - and again when I added the weight of the front bumper & winch. Sure you can adjust the camber without them - but - having done that slotted hole cr|removethispart|@p, I'd suggest you either get the longer arms or a proper eccentric bolt adjustable camber kit.

Well - if you're breaking those, then you've probably already run into the problem I have seen - the camber doesn't stay where you set it.

Only had a problem once after jumping around in the dunes for 3 days. Held just fine for months. I tack welded on washers before wheeling it super-hard again just in case.

How about the specs on the little Zebra, (Before Hi-jacking ), 45K miles and leaking oil at both gaskets seems alittle odd---That's post #18---Thanks

A 91 with 45K  I doubt it. It's probably 145k. I've had people try and pull that crap with me before. In California, there's a section where the seller needs to fill in the mileage, and sign it (separately from signing over the title). I usually give them some line like:
"Are you positive it's only 45k miles? The only reason I as is, it needs to be filled out here on the slip. If this vehicle has ever been in for service, they'll have put in the mileage into the DMV database - and if the mileage filled out doesn't match the DMV records, it's a Felony. I just don't want anyone getting in trouble. So, if it's possible it's 145k, it's something to think about before filling out the paperwork..."

It's stretching the truth - a lot, but... most guys change their tune rather quickly. Only one guy said, "I've owned it all it's life. I only drive it every few months for hunting trips, or just to take it out.". The rest of them admitted it might be 145K miles. The leaks aren't much of an indicator - gaskets wear out over time (as well as use), and these ones are 18 years old. And, get a copy of that compression check - verify their results. I don't trust anyone trying to sell me something unless they've got records to back it up.
