I've read some threads a while back about guys not being able to find shifter boots. May have been a Sammy thread, but the issue was finding a replacement for torn shifter boots. I was poking around in a pick-n-pull today and found myself over in the Geo Metro (same as Suzuki Swifts?) bone yard area and noticed the shifter boots on virtually all the manual equipped tranny models was still in the vehicles. I suppose it's because the linkage isn't sitting on top of the tranny or transfer case and so they don't get pulled with the drive train, but I pulled up the carpet on one and noted they were held against the sheet metal floor by four bolts. The thought occurred to me a shifter boot that fit pretty good is better than one that is ripped badly or non-existant. They definately appear to be large enough for transfer case shifters. Has anyone ever tried one of these??
