2.5 parts on a 2.7 for more power....
« on: May 08, 2009, 01:24:12 AM »
i remember some time ago hearing about this,

if you take the throttle body and injectors from a 2.5, and put them on a 2.7, it will increase the power of the 2.7.

i think it would work the other way around if anything , but this is what i heard........

does anyone know anything about this?

I believe JDMCRX is the guy you may need to contact. I know there was a mention about it when I was treplacing my motor. Here's a link to that thread.

Hey guys sorry for not replying im out east on a course.

The 2.7 Throtle body is bigger and less restrictive. I think i measured at 2-3mm bigger. Also does not have the mas air sensor in the throat. The 2.7 also has bigger injectors.

You want a good setup.

2.7 motor with a bored out TB and a 3" intake with the mass air plumbed to a air box other then stock. A 2.5" DP and a full manderal 2.5" exhaust with a resonator and a flow master muffler.

As i stated last year i will be building a turbo kit and a procharger sc kit for the gv when i get my house this summer.

I have long tube headers on my gv with alot of other mods but my biggest prob is not being able to do any timing adjustments and fuel.

Here is a quick vid of last summer. truck need a alignment and was leaning out up top.

Now, waitaminute....  I haven't measured myself yet, but I was sure you have previously said the 2.5 had the bigger throttle body and injectors.  Tell me I didn't buy all these 2.5 bits for nothing.

I think they messed up. there is no way they put 240cc in the h27 and the H25. I could be mistaken.

I will know more later this summer. I will be sending out a set of green top h25 and a set of white top h27 to RC.

Im looking at doing a powerdyne sc mounting system with a piggy back EFI system and going from there. I got 3 people interested.

It would be a passenger side mount powerdyne blower with your choice of a water to air or front mount.

Those figures I quoted came from the Suzuki Factrory Service manuals.

I have also heard that the 2.5 had a larger throttle body but nobody could ever confirm the actual sizes.

There may be differences between the early and later models with the power-up mods, Would be nice to know for sure.
