I am a noob, I'll start with that. So this may be way off. But is it a fuse that your blown rather than the alternator not being able to power them.

no it does fine without them on but with them on it only revs to about 2500 so if i get a bigger nator it should charge more i hope

Stock alternator shouldn't be SO weak that it can't handle a couple new lights.

Time to do a gm1 wire conversion your pulling to many amps i would bet ya. Check e bay brackets and wiring under 60 bux get the part # for alt with the kit go to autozone or SlOreally's pick up the nator. I put two 55 watt lites on top of running my h/l's belt squeels non stop turn everything off goes back fine i forget the specs on sammy alt but um do a conversion youll be money ahead

The stock Alt only produces 30amps on a Good Day. Turn on the heater and the headlights and your done. Add a pair of off road lights and 30 mins later your dead. ???

Brett at rail tough sells the GM bracket for $24.00

Then you have alot of choices.

for a CS style get an alt for a '93 chevrolet G30 with the 454.  105 amps, just remember to get a pigtail to go with it.  It's a 4 wire connection, but we only use 2.  You'll also need a v-belt pulley. $20 for a chromie at the parts store.

For an SI style an '84 camaro/firebird with the high output works, but I think that's only an 85 amp.

Here, Have a look at this.

I have a 105 amp in mine. Its AWESOME  ;)
