i'm repairing the rocker panels on my sidekick.
my doors still open ok, but i think another season would finish it off.....

so far, i have opened it up to see what's in there, gathered some materials, and have begun making brackets and braces.
i will post more pic links, since that is the only way i know.

You are right, there is not much time left (or metal either) to repair your rocker panels.
I replaced my rocker panels with 2X4X1/8" tubing.  This is how I did it.

no photo shop there- i'm too much of a luddite for that(kudos to MacZuki on the posting help!).
i did this much yesterday.
your repair thread spurred me on!
i'm using 2" square tube and bracing it up to the sill(inside) and to the floor pan.
i still have to finish the bracing and then plan to seal it back up.
duplicating the pieces as i go along should make the other side easier.
suzi the psychic is my fishing rig- she doesn't mind my welding- i'm using one of those cheap harbor freight flux core wire feeds.

finally finished the passenger side.
made some braces(3) to try and tie the tube to the door sill and floor pan.
i think those, plus the front/rear braces, could keep it in place. mabe.
then i sheeted it back up with the stuff i had cut out.

i may wait a while on the driver's side. it's not as bad, but this was a bit of a pia. i'll go scrub this one a bit and see how it does........

You can do a lot with those little wire feeds, once you get used to adjusting temp and speed.
The new rock rail will be much more effective than the old rock panel.
