when you drive your tracker it creates heat without a vent it would create pressure and blow out the seals

People also add a hose to keep water out of the axles during deep crossings.

You mean that w/out the hose my axels are in risk of become full of water?

Yes.  While the cap does a decent job, when performing water crossings that cover the axle water will work it's way in through the cap and into the axles.  If you plan on fording any rivers/lakes you should run a new tube up into your engine compartment.  I also pick up those cheap mini-filters from the parts store to put on the end.  Plus you can get them in chrome.  :D

I don't have a tracker, will my Sami's axles do the same thing?

If I remember correctly, my tracker had a hose that went from the vent to the top of the wheel well, and then it had a cap on it. I don't remember if the rear axle had a hose on it though.
Runnin' it stock with 225/75R15s and an unmodified 8valve TBI motor (I need a doug thoroley header and a cam) (more power) (1.6 liters of madness) (vroom + sewing machine sounds)

Samurais don't have any hoses on the axles, just a little breather cap with a spring in it.
You can get breather fittings off of Nissan hard body's and other foreign cars, but im not sure if they fit a Suzuki housing.

I used a garden hose and some hose clamps for a while.  Then I 'upgraded' to some rubber hose from a parts store.  :P
