I have a 96 sidekick with 60K on the clock. I am about to replace the timing belt and I am wondering if I should replace the waterpump while I am at it. The FSM does not list this as a maintenance item so should I hold off until 120K or just go ahead and replace it? What is the lifespan of the water pump on these things?

I would replace it.  It is probably fine, but as long as you are going to all that work to replace the timing  belt you might as well replace the water pump at the same time.

What he ^ said. If I do a water pump I do the timing belt also, and vice-versa.

same here if you are going that far you might as well do it.  Think of it as a insurance policy.

I did my timing belt at 90,000 and did the water pump too.  It was pretty easy since I had it apart already.  Also the one I got from Hawk looked to be better quality then the the factory one.  Anyway it's an easy swap since you already have it exposed, it only take like another hour.
