What to do with this early t-case??
« on: October 21, 2008, 07:58:36 AM »
Hello, I have this 90 track-kick t-case just sitting around taking up space. Is there anything I can do with it? Dual case? Boat anchor? Any Ideas, Sugestions? What would you do?

Someone was working on one that required a pre-96 t-case to build.  There is also the Kicker series from OTT Industries.

I looked at OTT, they only have kick to sami/yota adapters. With my 4.24:1 t-case and stock t-case. I would be able to run 35's. You'd think someone with a CNC machine would have tried this already.

They also have the Kicker 3 and the Kicker 1.  The Kicker 3 allows you to put a Sammy T-Case behind your box, it has a high range drop of 20% built in.  Then you can drop the lower gear kits in as required as each Sammy T-Case Gear set has a lower high range then stock.  The Kicker 1 should allow you to run a divorced Sammy T-Case behind the low range box.

Here is the post I was thinking of:

The samurai tcase has a 40% high range reduction (1.409:1).
It is correct that when you swap in lower samurai tcase gears, it does lower the high range ratio (anywhere from 12-20% or so, depending on the gearset) even lower than stock.

For some reason I was thinking the stock was only a 1.2 and the aftermarket kits where in the 1.4 range.  My bad for not looking it up first.  :)

Dual case would add alot of gearing options, Is there a tracker/tracker t-case adapter?

I have read a lot of threads, and have NOT found a tracker/tracker dual case.  I would be very interested if someone has made one.  I also have a spare tracker tcase, and would love to have/create a dual case setup.

This is the one that aftermarket4x4 made.  IIRC, he said it wasn't cost effective to make (at least, if he was trying to sell them).

I e-mailed aftermarket4x4 asking for some information. I'll pass on what I find out.

I did the same thing.
" I am interested in a kick/kick (t case) doubler.  I saw a photo of one that said you didn't think it cost effective to make.  Can you supply any information? "

Sean DeVinney
www.AFTERMARKET4X4.com
I have built one of these, but for the cost no one seemed to be interested in purchasing one especially since there are 4-1 T-case gears on the market for around $600 or so. So, no it is not cost effective to make at $850.....which is what I would need to sell them for.

Reading on Zuharrie, it appears the input shaft to the tc is 23 spline count, whereas the output is 26 (from 89 - 95).
