I bought a '99 Chevy Tracker and have driven it about 850 miles. It has gotten 24.5 mpg. This is a combination small town driving and highways. It's a two liter, five speed, 205x75x15 BFG Long Trail T/A's.

Google does all kinds of conversions:
http://www.google.com/help/calculator.html

I've found using question marks work well as variables. Something like: 400 km = ? miles

He didn't clarify whether or not he accounts for the larger tire diameter in his km totals.  Mine 29s come out to about  +7.5%, so 279 miles indicated would actually be 300, or 18.7 mpg would actually be 20.1..  I suspect, with the numbers he's talking, he's skipping that step.

I'm running 29s too, and I'm getting 20mpg with my SWB, which is more aerodynamically dirty than the LWB.

We just bought a 2001 4 door GV with the 2.7 and 5 speed manual.  We have put a lot of miles on it already and about 4 tanks of gas.  We have gotten 23 to 25 mpg so far.  We are really pleased with this vehicle.

2.7?  In a GV?

Nice mileage, though.  I've never seen 23 with my combo.

Well, right now in the winter in Jersey I'm getting between 24 and 25, with a 2.0 5 speed 215 cooper discover at tires.   It's garaged at night, don't run the heater in the am to get the motor to warm up in 5 minutes, then I wilil run the heater or defroster.  Shift pretty much at 3000 rpm, 3500 going up a hill, on downhills I coast in 5th as much as possible.  It's all back roads with 40 to 50 mph speed limits.
My wifes XL-7 bone stock has been geting 19 to 20.
In the spring and summer both go up a little.  I've gotten 28 about 5 years ago when I was commuting farther.  Right now it's only 12 miles each way.  Thats the problem with mpg, the first quarter of each trip th emotor is cold and warming up and running richer.
   HAVE  FUN ;D  Dave
