I don't really get what all the hype is about. Just because it has a giant "S" plastered to the front does NOT make it a genuine Suzuki. :police:
97 Sidekick 4door 5 speed, 1.5 spacer lift, 2" body lift, CJ rims, locked rear, 31's, 4:1 low <SOLD>
01 Vitara 2.0L 5 speed, 2.5" Calmini lift, 2" body lift, Sidekick rims, locked rear, 31's, 4:1 low, 5.13 diffs <SOLD>
03 XL7 2.7 5 speed, 4.5" AE lift with OME springs, 2" AE body lift, 5.13 diffs, 3:1 low, 235/80R17 BFG AT's on Ultra 17x8 with 1" spacers, skid plates, Balmer Fab front bumper

With respect, what would make a vehicle a genuine Suzuki? Is it design? Place of manufacture? ... Or, something else?

there no such thing as genuine any more, it doesn't matter what company it is. not that it's a bad thing I think you get better automobiles out of the deal

I like the Equator because you can get the 4cyl in it, last I checked the nissan only came with the 6cyl

2 solid axles, short wheel base, body on frame, true low range, you know, the usual things that we all fell in love with Suzuki for.

I know, "BAD TIMMY"!  But I am trying to show restraint.

Got to agree w/ Yankee-Tim.  Although we'll probably have to wait for the demise of Ralph Nader before we ever see anything resembling a Jimny in the US.

If it does 80 in low range, what'll it do in high, 160? Still, all in all looks pretty good, except for the interior trim. without actually touching it it looks like cheap plastic ( on the door panels anyway.)
The usual stuff, and 2nd generation Air to liquid intercooled TURBOCHARGER

Yeah, it just doesn't seem like the low range is more than a mere percentage of the regular drive gear. I've got the specs on a CD and will double check when I upload the new information into our Tech Section.  The interior is actually quite nice. It is on par with what everyone is doing these days with interiors. It is quiet and feels pretty rich actually. The door panels do seam like they were left out or were not massaged to match the rest of the interior but the doors shut and open really nice and firm.

I for one am pretty excited about this truck. Finally Suzuki has given us something to work with. Whether your a go fast guy or a crawler we finally have a new platform to breath life back into our sport. Finally we have something to build again that does have our beloved S on the front. Sure we all love samurais. I think deep down alot of us have respect for old willys jeeps and toyota landcruisers, nissan patrols etc etc.    Fact of the matter is the samurai is old. And I for one am glad we have this pickup. A 6500 lb tow rating is awesome. Now we can have a suzuki truck as a tow rig for our little trail rigs and when the truck has higher mileage we can prerunner them out and go jump dunes with them. Living in so cal we have alot of different options when it comes to wheeling. I personally love it all. I get equally excited blasting up a dune as I do burning all 4 tires up a rock face.

Honestly, I hate Nissans, they really dont do it for me. And neither does this Suzuki knock-off. WTF who are they trying to kid???  What happened to good old Jap built Suzukis??? Although I must admit, it would make a great entry control point on my base over here, cuz like the last humvee that was there, it would get blown up, and I really wouldnt mind that happening to that truck.
'02 Toyota Tundra 2.5'' inch coilovers front, and 2.5'' in rear lift of blocks and billstein 5150 absorbers.

"They're" not trying to kid anyone. ASMC is very upfront that this is a joint venture with Nissan. I'm not really following the last part of your paragraph.
