Where would be the best place to get some gears and a locker/spool for some yota axles?

If I were to do it all over, I'd get the 5.29's from Bobby Long. If you like Yukons (or other gears) better...

Look into Aussie lockers - they're AWESOME. Way better than detroit or lockrite. They're the next-gen auto lockers that address most the negative aspects of the previous gens of lunchbox lockers. I LOVE mine, and 2 cost less than a single ARB. The customer service was fantastic too.

Well im not really thinking I need 5.29's as its only got 33's... Idk maybe I do.

Just a little info on what im workin with here.

Stock yota is 4.10, which won't be fun with 33" tires. You're going to want the 5.29 or 5.71... and / or t-case gears. Just remember the more you rely on your t-case to do the reduction, the more stress is on the u-joints. with 33" tires, you can probably get away with just t-case gears & beefy u-joints (carry spares - ask me how I know).

what about beefy joints, 4.88's, 6.5 t-case? I know some yota's coulda been ordered with 4.88's or even higher as an option, I havent checked on these ones so i'll assume that im looking at 4.10's

Most axles come with 4.10 - economically, it doesn't make sense to go to 4.88, it's not much of a change. I feel like it was $400 that was VERY wasted. 5.29 or bigger is what you want if you have to spend that kinda $$$. Also look into aussie lockers - they kick major butt. I wouldn't worry about Chromoly birfs with 33" tires. Get a $30 trail spare, and just carry it with you. If you break easy, then worry about spending the bug bucks for Chromoly.

Well then 5.29's it is I suppose. I'll look into the Aussie lockers... I plan to save up some money and completely overhaul my axles to make them stronger as I will someday go larger and I might as well be ready for it right? I dont know how much bigger, but definately bigger. Thanks alot.

I'm on 35" tires, and stock axles. I have not broken them... yet. My 4-door tracker is about as heavy as it gets, and it sees Rubicon use. But, I'm pretty gentle 'cause I don't like breakage. I'm going to carry a $30 birf spare from someone like trail-gear or something. If I start breaking often, I'll worry about upgrading to something more stout.

Look into axle trussing - especially near the ends - there's mini-truss kits that protect that weak point. Lots of info out on this (trail-gear, low-range offroad, bobby long, marlin krawker...)
