Just like the topic says, I just started hearing it click when the hubs are locked. Cv's are going bad I guess? I'm not a mechanic so are they hard to take out?
Keep in mind that I lost a pair of channel locks this past weekend when trying to get the hose clamp back on the vent line on my gas tank. I need to walk across the street into the woods and see if I can find them. 
I had no idea they would fly that far.

They are not too bad. You just need some special tools! Possibly allen keys for the hubs and c clip pliers for the shafts. I think. I don't quite remember! LOL

I remember pulling my back axles on my Suzuki King Quad and that was a piece of cake. I hop these are close to being the same.

just changed out mine on my 89 sidekick . no real issue other then  the  hub nut  which takes a special tool   to get off . You will also need a jack , torque wrench as well as  what Armour stated . Also get some disc break grease so as to pack the bearings while you have them exposed

 don’t mess with the CV joints ,  for about 70  bucks a side " if i recall " you can replace the whole drive axle  which comes with new  boots and joints . While your at it and in there ,  spend a few more and replace the inner and outer seals  .
Drivers side is the simplest  but the passenger side isn’t that hard either. It just pops into the  diff   over bolting to it like the drivers side does .

You don't need to remove the hub. Place a jack under the conntrol arm, remove the FWH and the ciirclip behind it. Disconnect the sway bar if you still have it and detach the strut, at the top or bottom*. Then just swing the hub out of the way. Just watch out for dirt getting in the bearing once you've pulled the driveshaft.

*some people prefer to remove the lower ball joint instead.

 thats what i did with mine , i just dropped the lower  ball joint .
 i also replace the bearings   since i had  things apart . hence pulling the hub . .
 i figured  becouse i had  the front end up and apart , might as well put new  parts in
