I have a tow bar for the Tracker but I need to firgure out how I can wire in a 4-pin connector to come out the front so I can plug it into my truck when I'm towing the Tracker behind it.  My neighbor showed me how he did his car, he just spliced into one of the rear taillights and backfed the power from his truck into the tow'd vehicles taillight wiring.  I don't really want to do this, I'm looking for something a bit more profesional and permenant.  I want to keep the wires tucked under the hood and be able to unreel them whenever I'm ready to tow it again.  Maybe theres a way I can splice in through the wires under the dash???

If anyone has a wiring diagram on how they fitted their vehicle with a 4-pin connector in the front please let me know.  Note:  My Tracker does have a hitch and 4-pin connector in the rear but I cannot backfeed through that connector because it has the 5 wire to 4 wire converter and will not allow you to backfeed the lighting power through it.

vehicles use a grounding system to actuate the lights, kind of backwards
to American or European thinking, you will find (I think) all the wires
are "hot" and wiring lights will be a pain. Harbor Freight has lights and so
does wal-mart, could be time and frustration well avoided

I am not sure what you are talking about the grounds. I sure have not found this true on my Tracker. I used a Blue Ox towed vehicle wiring kit which consists of a diode block for isolating the Tracker lights and the tow vehicle lights.  Worked fine for over 35,000 miles.   

You want to wire it up to the rear lights with a 4 wire setup.  Simply because all the wires you need to splice into are in the back of the rig. Like skitime said, you can use a diode kit to isolate the wires in order to avoid screwing everything up.   If you want a wiring diagram http://www.suzukiinfo.com/ has one, and acks faq probably has one in the back of one of the FSM manuals on his sight.

One of my club members just uses a board with trailer lights on the back, similar to the magnetic light setup, that was originally made for hauling boats around.

Diodes would solve the problem

Go to any trailer/camping store and they will have a diode kit with a generic wiring diagram.

I have did this with my tracker and saturn Vue.
