how is rocky road outfitters

im planning on buying a spoa kit for my 88 but dont know if there service is good or bad

does anyone have an idea

I have bought many things from them.  In fact I have a SPOA 6" kit on the way from them.  They are a little slow right now as its been a couple of weeks and when I had called they said they were a week behind.  I have always had good luck with them though.  I have just bought some parts from Trail Tough and had to call to order as they don't have a way of ordering online.  They were awesome.  Practically answered my questions before I finished my sentence.  So RRO is great and you can order online.  TT is good too but have to call.  And I know someone else will plug Hawk as they always do.  :^)  Its nice to have good dedicated companies that carry Zuk parts.

My advice is to shop anywhere else.  I'm VERY certain I am far, far from the only one who holds this opinion.

Go with Sky manufacturings SPOA kit! http://www.sky-manufacturing.com/  Its a much better design and the fit and finish of their parts is FAR superior.  The full kit with shock mounts, shocks and stage 1 OTT steering is all of $20 more, but that buys you great service and much nicer components.  Everything is laser cut, welded beautifully, fits perfect, and looks professional once installed.  Also, they are alredy set up to move the axle 1" forward or backward, which is great, since you may need to do this depending on your tire selection (I did).

I've dealt with RRO a few times.  I've been disapointed with most of their parts, other than their front bumper, and I'VE HATED THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE!  When I say hated, I mean to the point that I ALWAYS make a point to warn people on these message boards to steer clear.

Just my 2 cents

really? well ok cus that website got me into the idea of offroading and ive felt some sort of loyalty to buy parts from them but if they dont take care of there parts when shipping them then im just going to go with someone else. do you know of anyone else that sells bolton SPOA kits other then RRO

Rocky Road does make some great equipment.  Just make sure they have it in stock when you order as sometimes shipping takes a little while.

If you have questions about SPOA kits, do a search on the site.  You can find all sorts of write ups, including how to do it yourself if you have some time and a welder.

The way I read what you posted is, we can give any and all the praise to a vender here but if we have a problem we can not bring it here. Is that corrrect?


If that is the case, how do the newbies know who to deal with and who to stay away from?



And a couple of things about this. We are not "Vendor bashing", we are stating our dealings with said dealer. If said dealer was forth right and truthfull with the buyer I am sure these posts would not be bashing the dealer.

The way this company treats the customer is pathetic. And they have been doing this for over ten years.

I have dealt with rro many years ago and had to deal with them directly. At that time they were one step ahead of cal-minitruck. It seems like cal-minitruck has stepped it up a bit in the last ten years.

CALMINI sells a very complete bolt-on SPOA.

Petroworks, Trail Tough, Hawk... just about every vendor out there.
