Samurai speedometer (transfer case) question.
« on: June 02, 2008, 07:59:52 PM »
I have an 87 Samurai with a non working speedometer.  When pulling the cable from the transfer case, the cable has a slotted head but looking into the transfer case it is hollow.  We pulled apart my buddies 88 Samurai and inside his it looked to have some sort of mating pin.  My question is: is that pin part of the speedometer output gear or is it a separate part that slides into it?  I have not had a chance to pull the output gear from the transfer case yet to look at it.

Thanks,
George

there should be a little gear in there when you look at it through the hole it should look kinda like a regular screw driver matching your speedo cable slot, if you need one i could prolly send you mine my top speed is about 10 or 15 mph so i realy dont need it
