safari bars
« on: May 31, 2008, 08:23:48 AM »
hey guys, im thinking about getting a safari bar/light bar for my '00 tracker.
i was looking at a westin bar and they seem pretty decent.
i would like a bar that also has the mount points for some lights

what do you guys think? what kind of bar do you use?

just an advanced warning that if you plan on really wheeling your rig that stuff WILL get broken.

Yeah i went wheeling a few times with this bar its nailed some mud . But if your going to jump off rocks its going to bend.

You can mount them on the top of your bumper if u want to do that.

The westin was a straight bolt on. I cut the old tabs off and put on 4 tabs for the lights.

deep mud and or water will get in the lights along with bending the light mounts, it sits lower and out farther, not really an advantage to wheeling but if you are not gonna wheel hard or on rocky shitty terrain go for it.  it is basically a look pretty piece imo.  i have no cover on my bumper and i've still hit the metal bumper on shit, depends on your wheeling..  as for suggestions i don't have any.

If your throwing on 31's and going to wheel hard then mount them on top of bumper.

Or if u want just bolt them to the top of the bumper.
