Help with winch bumper Pleeeeze!!!!
« on: March 12, 2008, 05:11:44 PM »
I'm either looking for a winch bumper for my 97 tracker or wanting to find a winch bumper that I can slightly modify to fit. Looking for a reasonable price either way. I was told that a newer jeep tj bumper is about the same. It would work with only minor modification. I would like to see if someone here could confirm this. any other information would be greatful and well appreciated. thank you, Serious.

There are some available.
What are you looking to spend?
Are you looking to build one yourself?
I had a 97 4dr with the ShrockWorks Winch Bumper.
And it was well worth the price and wait.
TrailTough has one
and
Calmini .(on my 2dr)

Mine..

Well, I know that the one at Shrock Works was less than what I paid at calimi.
But concender the price of fabricating and design.
It is worth it.
What is your time worth to you??
ShrockWorks comes bear and Calmini comes PowderCoated.
and then throw in shipping (around 100bucks for 100lbs of Steel and what is the cost of Steel these days?) .
And I do have a Calmini on my 95 2dr
and did buy a ShrockWorks for my (now gone, Dang it!!) 97 4dr SideKick.(it cost 100bucks less and was raw steel)
You could spend 12 hrs building one (fabrication runs atleast a $100 an hour)
send it out for painting ($200) or Powdercoating ($200 (my guess)
Steel (?? no idea)
In the long run, it does sound cheaper to buy it.
But that is my thoughts and guesses at prices.
Anybody can correct me if I'm wrong on prices tho..
(I'm just winging it here)

Everyone i've seen cost upward of $600 or more. I can build one for around $200. But I can get the jeep bumper for $100. Thant is why I wanted to know how much modifying was involved to make it work. Thanks for the info though.
