So after a lot of brain storming, changing of minds and LOTS of research the build has begun  8) The good part is my trusty old steed is now a pile of parts on a skid ready to use on the new rig and sale what is not needed  :'( The good part is that most everything is lined up and the build is on.

I decided on doing a street legal ride after much debate on doing a buggy. So the vehicle of choice is a blue Tracker 2 door ( had to have that open air feeling) with the following mods:

- Grand Vitara V6 and auto trans
- GRP Auto 4:1 tcase with Stans twin stick
- Trail Tough 'Trail Slayer' solid axle conversion
- Toyota axles locked and loaded
- Allied 17x9 rims with Staun Beadlocks
- Mickey Thompson 37x12.50 MTZ's
- Pre-runner bumpers front and rear
- full cage w seats and harness

and a few more goodies that I am sure I am leaving out.

I finally decided on the street legal ride after many things, but the deciding factor was how much I have always loved being able to jump in my Kick and drive any where, wheel the crap out of it and head back home. So if all works out I plan on making the maiden voyage of the new ride a Zukiworld even in the North West followed by a 2500 mile cross country trip in her to prove her road worthiness  ;D

More updates to come,

Zig

Any reason for the Mics?

While not a radial, you should check out Pit Bull Rockers or Growlers.  I've got set of Rockers and they are friggin' da bomb.  Stick like you wouldn't believe.  Yank Bob and I have keep the tires at street pressure (20#) and are trying to find the limit of the tire.  Even at that pressure, they are conforming and sticking with amazement, to the point Bob is gonna off his new Yokos for them.

I could post some vid clips of the Rockers on stuff at Fossil Rok Ranch just to show you what these do at 20#s.  I've dropped them to 10#s once, and haven't found terrain tuff enough to drop to 5 yet.

At the same time, they are a lot cheaper than most other tires ($185 for 33"s), which could fre up some flow for other goodies.

Just putting it out there.

I have a great connection to get a deal on the MT's. Plus I have heard really great things about them (as a Road + Trail combo tire) Now that I am going to make this a street legal rig I will be treating it like my last one, drive it to where I want to wheel, wheel all weekend and drive it home. I think the Pit Bulls would get wiped out with that much road use  :-\ . Everything I have heard about the Pit's have been great, If I decide to go with a more trail aggressive tire I will probably go with a Pit Bull.

Sorry they are 17X9's, I gotta fix that in the previous post. I am thinking it will be the Fall Classic with a continued Adventure across the NW until I run out of time and need to hit the interstate to get back for work. Nothing set in stone yet though.

The 'May' part is the problem. I need to let work know WAY in advance if I'm going to take over a week off of work so instead of risking it not being done I'm just planning on attending my fav off road trip for the third time  8) Not to mention the cost of two trips to da NW in a month, and a cross country drive. BUT it's still not out of the realms of reality.
