Forwarded from the ODF:
Mark you calendars for the first OHV Work Party of 2008 in the Tillamook State Forest!
You'll notice that the March date has changed from what was on the calendar I sent out earlier in the month. We pushed it back to the end of the month as there is just too much snow out in the woods right now and the chances of it melting enough by March 8 for us to get trail assessments done are pretty slim. So, instead of cancelling we changed the date (I hope this still works for folks).
DATE: Saturday, March 29th
TIME: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
MEETING LOCATION: Rogers Camp
We will be signing folks in and handing out trail assignments at the Rogers Camp Staging Area
The trail assessment work will be focused on the Jordan Creek, Diamond Mill, and Browns Camp Areas.
PROJECT: Spring Trail Assessment & Clearing Work
Bring your bikes, quads, and 4x4s to help us assess the OHV trails.
Each club or group will be assigned or pick specific trails to review and report on. (ODF will provide reporting forms and guidelines.)
Trail tools are welcome as we're sure some of those water bars will be in need of maintenance.
Chainsaws may be used to clear trails with proper protective gear (chaps / hardhat / eye & ear protection / gloves)
If you have a specific area or trail you want to help assess, give me a call and I'll make sure it is set aside for you to review.
We're looking forward to seeing you there!
