While working on trying to fit my new 33's on my Tracker, I noticed in the rear, the upper coil mount is angled upward, from the outside looking into the wheel well. After doing the Hagen rear axle rotation I've been debating the idea of re locating the upper coil mount anyway, but it was just too much of a PITA to cut off altogether. I took some measurements and found the outer edge of the upper coil mount is an inch higher than the inside edge against the frame. What I did is cut a wedge shaped slice an inch wide in the front, tapering down to a point in the rear, on both sides of the coil mount. Then I bent the top down to meet the sides, and welded everything back together. This effectively gave me an inch more lift in the rear by straightening up the coil, and lowering the top mount. The coil sits better too, no bowing in at all. With my OME spring, a 2" spacer and the dropped coil mount I now have about 3 3/4 - 4" lift in the back. I also relocated the upper and lower shock mounts as well. In the front, I'm using new Calmini Coils, 1.25" spacer with my modified a arms, and the hagen widening for about 3.5" of lift. I'll get some photos's up this weekend when I get my tires mounted. Still trying to get these 33's on with just a 2" body lift and no cutting. We'll see.
