According to petroworks I beleive the early 1.3l equipped kicks may have had them.
The 89 1.3L sidekicks had the 5.625 gears.....that has been verified by people on here.
Correct it has been verified, but there are always options or exceptions from the norm or this list. As verified by vendors and businesses that deal with parts all day. Such as Petroworks, Trail Tough, Rancho Recyclers and now Carparts.com., which provided me with said gear sets.
Your statement on what vehicle it is found in is correct, I just contend your timeline when they were used.
Yes, there can be exceptions to the rules. But until I personally see an exception, or personally talk to someone, who has personally ran across the exception, and is a reliable "source", I will stand by my list as being 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% accurate....right down to the year(s).
This reminds me of a discussion I had on another board.......one guy swore up and down that no 2wd Samurai's were ever made. He even went on to say "Suzuki knows what they made, and they said no 2wd Samurais were ever produced." Now, I don't know where he got his "Suzuki statement" that he was quoting, but he was obviously wrong.
The bottom line is.......If someone wants to question my timeline, and has personally ran across an exception, and is a reliable "source", then I will listen......if someone wants to contend my timeline based on hearsay, or "I heard", or "I read"....then don't waste my time.
And as we all know.....vendors and websites are never wrong.
I would bet that they are all pulling their info from somewhere that has it posted wrong, and they have not personally ran across any exceptions to my list. But, much like the vendors and websites, I could be wrong.
I see that car-parts.com lists some carbs for 90 samurai's.......that's odd, since in 90, all samurais were EFI.
They also list some carbs for 1.6L, 1990 sidekicks......odd, since all 1.6L engines are EFI...and 89 was the only year for a carbed sidekick, plus it was a 1.3L, not a 1.6L.
See a pattern here?
I am through discussing this, from lack of verifiable evidence. For those of you reading along at home......Take my list for what it's worth. If you think you will find 5.38 or 5.62 gears in other years/combos than what I have listed.....good luck....but I'm betting you will be wasting your time.
