Got my coin level high enough to buy some goodies!!!

Called up Lowrangeoffroad and got myself...Re-man head, Cam, Thorley header, timing cover, and new transmission input shaft.
Should have a brown truck idling out front of my house tomorrow evening.

Anyone rebuild a Sidekick transmission?  Is it as simple as a Samurai trans?

Are there any performance clutches available for the Sidekick other than Centerforce?

Well I got a nice big brown box today, unfortunately I didn't get everything.

Got the timing cover and Thorley Header.

Still waiting on the input shaft, Head, and Cam.

It looks pretty dam nice, thou the flange does look rather rough and I'm not sure how flat it is.

Should have more goodies tomorrow.

I know centerforce has a stage 2 clutch I suppose it has more Face surface then the stage one and heavier springs....not sure.

Thats what I thought,
Iv never been a huge fan of Centerforce clutches.  Pretty sure I'm just going to end up getting a stock replacement clutch...and really test its durability

Im sure it will smell great.......hahaha

There's nothing like the smell of burning clutch in the morning!
My buddy has the a stock replacement clutch on his sidekick.  He beats the piss out of it, so far the clutch is still going strong. 
Plus Ill have more gearing options, there wont be nearly as much feathering of the clutch.

On the progress side of things...
I finally got my Cam and Head in the mail, Just dropped it off at the engine shop.
Should be having it close to done here pretty soon.  Only next big thing is the doubler.

Rebuilding the transmission at the moment, will have a couple pics here in a day or too.

Sounds good. I've been looking at my little 95 geo sli thinking it needs some love in the hp department. Go DD!

Rebuilt the sidekick trans this weekend.

I just love how easy they are to work on, Suzuki couldn't have made a more user friendly transmission!!

Heated all the bearings I could...makes it so nice!  Heat em up and drop em on, then just pressed all the case bearings.


Yet another input shaft to replace.

After a "little" break from the build, I'm back at it!
In the process of getting the engine reassembled.

I hoping to find some information about the fuel injectors.
There seems to be 2 different types of injectors.  2 mist and 2 jet style.
Does anyone know why this is?  Is this an OEM thing?

I pulled the injectors apart flow checked and ultrasonically cleaned them.
They had a decent flow rate, but didn't pass the leak test at all.
I'm leaning toward just buying new injectors.

ive read the entire build up on your sammy and you have lots of goodies here...i had a few questions. I noticed you had mentioned that you werent geared up enough or didnt have enough motor power before the motor swap...you had 4.10's with 34's and a 6.5 tcase right? well you should of been able to run in 5th gear. I have a sammy and before i did my yj swap i was running the same set up but stock axles with 4.63's with stock tcase and motor with 34 ltb's and couldnt stay in 5th gear. But since then i have 6.5 tcase 4.63's running 38.5 boggers and stock motor and have NO issues at all turning these big meats...


also i was considering the 1.6 8v swap...someone had mentioned just swaping the block and head....what about the starter...could you just put the head on the 1.3 or would it not work or what would it take to do it?

What is the technique for heating up the bearings.  I'm about to start my Trans rebuild and this looks much better than trying to press them on the shafts.  Looks like you have them sitting in oil?  Sorry for the newb question... love the buildup...

It depends on the year, my 96 has one style, Derek's 93 has another.  But you can freely swap them out.  To test if they are working just hit them with 12v, if they click it works.
