GOODIES!!!!!

Sky Yj Kit, Toyota drive line adaptors, trail gear 6.5:1, petroworks clutch, T-case rebuild, Tranny rebuild, Spidertrax E-break, mighty kong T-case bucket, Trail gear shock hoops, Rock4x high clearance tranny crossmember, and many other boxes of parts that wouldnt fit on my floor.

Once im done lifting my old ladies Bronco 2 im going to start rebuilding the tranny and T-case, gear it and then throw the new clutch in it.  Get the drive components all dialed, then slap the axles under it.

Hope to get it done soon, summers just around the corner!

Yaaa go my gears all in! Its pretty sweet, soooo slow and low! I dig it!

Here's some pics, sorry i didn't really get anything of the build up, but it was pretty easy to install them all.

When i pulled it out....

When i put it back in!

The Tcase bucket really make a big difference in how tight the drive-train is, it feels real smooth now.

Brass shifter sheet.

All in all it was awesome to put them in, just cant wait to get some new tires and my axles under it.

Ill have more soon

Just messing around with low range, 1st gear idle.
The low range is wayyyy to low with those little tires on.

What do ya think?

Well i pulled my transmission out yesterday, got it all out pretty smooth.
Then started pulled the clutch out, noticed it looked a little worn out...
The clutch was demolished I'm surprised it was still going, the springs were almost all about to fall out or ground down.  I pulled the flywheel and had a look at it, it looked like it got pretty hot at one point.  Took a peek at the pilot bearing and noticed that it didn't really even spin at all.
I instantly thought of the input shaft... went and took a look at it and it was just smoked!

Opened the tranny case up today and took a look inside, nothing out of the ordinary.  Just a few ball bearings laying around in the bottom, some really loose bearings.

So now i am on the hunt for a new input shaft, I'm hoping that i can get one from hawk.
The dealer wants 250 for the input shaft but to get the input shaft i have to buy the main shaft along with it for 450.

Man this sucks

Ill throw some pics up tomorrow

Totally rebuilt the the tranny and threw it back in yesterday.  I put a petroworks clutch in also, which so far has been working very nicely.  The tranny is very quite compared to what it was before, and it  shifts pretty darn good to.

Heres when i pulled the little thing out.

Old burnt up input shaft...

Brand new input shaft.

Main shaft all assembled and ready to go.

When i put the little thing in.

All in all the tranny was soooo simple to work on, there was nothing to it at all!  I would recommend this to anyone. It was just to easy.

Well i guess the next thing thats going in are my axles! ;D
Cant wait to do it.

How of a build up do you plan on doing?  So far i have been trying to replace or rebuild everything.  Just so i can have a fresh rig. Theres quite a bit in it, each yota axle after being built up cost a little over a 1000. T-case gears were 500, my t-case Ebrake was 250 and the clutch was like 300, theres another 300 in the transmission. Thats just the things that i have put on so far, i still have to put quite a bit of stuff to do.

I can go through my recites and add it up for ya.

You can build up a rig for a lot less, i just chose to over kill every part of it.

I should be so lucky.Having the equipment to machine and fabricate is a huge plus.I don't know how I could live without it.
A manual tranny is pretty simple and easy to work on,and so are most transfer cases.A auto tranny on the other hand can seriously piss a guy off.
Build looks great, and I can't wait to see the finished product.

Thanks a lot!

I do not yet have a name for this little rig, i should try and think something up.
Any ideas?

Amilla

I know, i don't know what i would do if i didnt have a machine shop.

Not all manual trannys are that fun to jump into, me and some buddies were trying to fix a Toyota tranny.  Thats like brain surgery compared to a sami tranny.  I have taken apart auto trannys before but just left it at that hahha ;D

Thanks

I went through a Allison world series from a 2005 fire truck,an E One custom to be exact, and I would just as soon be smacked than do that again.Snap rings that large and thick are criminal and should be outlawed.Your average big ass transfer case which drives the pump however is a piece of cake.It is sometimes hard to believe how simple they are when there is so much modern technology in a modern pumper.

I have a name.  I think your vehicle is like a tank, call him Mr. Tank but say Mr. T for short. Mr. T is ugly like the Samurai.  And he can say things like, "I pity the trail..."
