What do you think of these as an aftermarker replacement?

I can get the deck & 2 sets of speakers ..for 144.00 shipped with a cupon code i found

I prefer to keep speakers and decks the same brand, and since clarion is the stock stuff i figured with this deal keep it same brand as well..

I don't know about your model year, but on my Track [edited], the dash takes smaller ones than the rear. If that's the case with your truck, I would get the maximum size your rear will take, and I bet that's larger than 4. That's where the good bass is going to be, with that larger speaker and its heavier magnet.

Not saying that you have to buy from them, but if you type in your truck and year, it'll automatically come up with what speakers will fit front and back. And they also include the wiring harness and bezel for your vehicle.

My rear ones only went in with two screws, none of the other holes lined up, but it fit. (I was too lazy to drill, and it's in there solid anyway.)

My front ones were a PITA to install. Trying to hold those little metal clips in position and drive the screws in was NOT a pleasurable task.

I need a CD player too, not so much for the CDs because I intend to use mostly an iPod with with transmitter, but for more power. When you drive with the top down, that stock Tracker amp just doesn't cut it.

If you are using your iPod with a transmitter then you can get all the power out of the stock head unit. Once you have it setup. Turn the radio all the way up and adjust the volume at the iPod. It should get plenty loud for you.

You know what? You're exactly right:

I don't have an iPod yet, my wife does, and we tested hers the first time this weekend. When I had the Track amp cranked to full and the top open, it wasn't enough. But then she turned the iPod up and it was fine. Unfortunately, she was at the iPod controls, so I myself didn't get to play with it VERY loud.

The only issue I had, and maybe it was a weak battery in the transmitter, was that it was a little static-y. She was in the passenger seat and the antenna is driver-side, but is the antenna for both AM and FM anyway, or just AM?

I ask because since I plan to strap the iPod to the sunvisor--perfect place to make song selections while driving--maybe this will be an additional fix, getting it closer to that antenna.

I used crutchfield for their speaker sizer and such...
but when it came to the products i bought, wich yes i decided on those..
it was cheaper to get them from overstock, then go down the road to walmort for the harness etc,

wont be using an ipod or other portable, thats why i purchased this type of head unit, i fill a disk full of mp3's & WMA'S and play those.

Well seems somebody allready stuffed some pioneer 6x9's back there in the behind the panels lol, just laying there..

crappy job, i guess that's why the panel on the left side was cracked in half near the vent looking thing from the half ass man handeled replacement...

just glued that back together till i can find a a good used one...
