I received a letter today from Suzuki Canada about this issue.

There is a prologated warranty on the crossmember: 10 years or 240000Km.

And  the crossmember can be inspected free to a Suzuki dealer once a year.

I talked to GM Canada about this and was told that they would not even consider a claim on a vehicle that did not originate or was registered in the eastern provinces or the eastern US
