Suzuki Jimny??
« on: August 08, 2007, 05:05:35 PM »
I was just looking around on E-bay and somehow found this site:
http://www.0123go.com/stock/detail.php?Buying_Manage_No=GT07060291&srh_type=0&#detail

This little truck looks like it shares alot with the Trackers/Sidekicks, but looks waaaayyyy different. It has a 660cc turbocharged engine. It would get awesome gas mileage and it has A/C, PS, 4WD, and airbags. What (if anything) do yall know about them??

I believe the 660 Turbo is a Japan/Asian model only. Most of them are a develeopment of the 1.3 Samurai engine with either SOHC or DOHC, newest models ae VVT. There is also a 1.5? diesel model. Physical size is similar to a Track/Kick, drive train is all different with coil sprung live axles and vacuum operated FWHs.

i'd get rid of my tracker in a second if the monkeys at suzuki would give us a jimny in the states.  if i could get a diesel, i might throw in a kidney, also. they could even resurrect the samurai name

Yeah A diesel would be pimpin'. I just wondered how one would get it to be legal in TN? I could swap something from a Tracker onto it, swap over the VIN number, and title it as a kit??

I've seen them in the BVI (British Virgin Islands).

I'm pretty sure Canada never got them.

Pretty sure the Canuks don't have them or I would have gotten a grey market unit already. If I make it out to England next year for a study abroad I'll send pics of matching Capicino and Jimny.  8) Also check out   http://www.carmag.co.jp/apio/JImigi.html make sure to google it so they will translate the japanees for you.    NMc
