do p235/75/15 tires really fit a stock track/kick?
« on: July 31, 2007, 12:07:33 PM »
Alright I know this is a common topic but when I went to les schwab with my dad the other day they said p215/75/15 was the max tire size and maybe p225/75/15 with trimming. also that a 7'' rim was definately the biggest rim I could get. Now les schwab is not the main problem now my dad won't let me get p235/75/15's cause of what les schwab said. any support or ideas I could use to convice my dad would be appriciated. Maybe pics with p235's on a stock trac/kick. my tracker is a 96 if that makes a difference. Has anyone ran uniroyal liberator a/t's on a trac/kick thanks. And also to those of you who have ran p235's on a stock track/kick how did you get the tire shop to put them on? sorry for all the questions but I need advice.

Yep, no problem fitting 235's at all.  and this is with a really far offset on these wheels.

But when i had the stock wheels, I never had a problem.  It definitely gives it a tougher stance.

I believe that 235s will fit.  A guy that used to be on this board had Hitech 235 retreads on a stock '93 2dr.

I can tell you that 225s will definitely fit using stock rims.  I'm running 225 Dunlops on my '96 box stock Tracker.

If anything, a 235/75 is more accurate! I found with my 235/75's my spedometer was much closer to my Magellan GPS...

I fit 235/75/15 on my stock 95.  I've run both Firestone MTs and BFG ATs on 7" wheels.  Both rubbed when flexing but the MTs were worse.  The amount of rubbing depends on the specific tire & wheel combo.  And like UnCivilized, my speedo checked with GPS is now dead on accurate!

ok that is hot a kick with a bikini lady in a river bed and a dog. just change the lady too a hot asian and that is my pic choice.....my wife is asian so you understand...oh and i run hercules terra trac mt that measure 9. something width and 29 inches tall on stock alluminum wheels and a 2 inch spacer lift. the only rubbing is on the front tires at the back side on the frame.. other than that there is no issues at all. and it runs alot nicer than stock size.

Yeah i forgot to add that.  In extreme flex the rears will in fact rub.  I didn't think about it since mine is so stock i never rock climb or anything to extreme.  And it happens so rarely during just daily driving.

235's on stock rims rub the frame.  But can be adjusted at steering stops located by steering link on each side of the frame.

If you can find a set of stock Samurai wheels, they have .5" less backspacing(3.75")(stock is 4.25") setting the tire that much further from the frame. Doesn't seem like a lot, but it helps.

What vehicle are those wheels from? I've seen them on some Ford F150's, but not sure on year/model...

BTW - that purple looks cool in the sun ;)

Those wheels came off a Tracker we bought for parts but I've been told that early model F150 wheels will fit Trackers!  Thanks on the purple!

I had absolutely minimal rub on the frame at full lock with 235-75 Dueler M/Ts on my stock '96.  All you'll get is a little shiny spot.  The pluses way outweigh that little negative.

Then put some small coil spacers in and you'll be gold.
