Is there a fuel savings?

For all practical purposes no.

Is there a wear and tear savings on everything up front that is no longer spinning?

Heck yeah!  Remember they did away with manual hubs not for any technical reasons...just that yuppies didn't like them.

As mentioned above install is easy.

There can be a fuel savings as the CV's, axles, diff and drive shaft won't be turning with manual hubs as opposed to turning all the time with the stock drive flanges.

The diff and drive shaft do not turn, as they are disconnected by the air-operated clutch in the front drive assembly.  The amount of fuel consumed by the CVs and axles is so small compared to the rest of the vehicle that you would never be able to measure it.  Some people recommend it to save wear on the oil seals - in my view, that is the only solid reason to do it.

Or to lose the shit-on-the-fly air diff and not have everything spinning.

IF you have ever had to change that seal just once you would put the hubs on. Me I've done it twice with 50k on my xl-7.  I realy need to get off my butt and get hubs.

i found my front passenger wheel to have some play in it AGAIN....  the dealership just replaced most parts up there, they do good work.  i was out wheeling but not super hard and anyway brought the tracker back in and the bearing was loose, but more on topic on of the hub bolts was broken somehow...???  who knows, i still haven't bought manual hubs or anything else yet...  i have never heard of anybody having problems with the stock hubs on these rigs though.

Anyone happen to know what the going USD price for the Warn standard/premium hubs are?  I was on vacation last week so I drove across the city to what Warn calls our local warn dealer.  They never answered their phone and they're closed when I'm off normally.   Anyways turned out they've been closed for 4 years.  Well no wonder they didn't answer their phone.

I was pointed across the street to a Big Boy Autoparts.  Got me some prices of over $310 (recalling from memory, I wrote it down on the back of a receipt but it's still out in the car) for the premiums, EACH, and the standards not much less.  Ouch that's steep, I'm wondering if it's more reasonable in the US?  I'm still trying to delegate my money between saving up for winter tires, saving up for goodies, and paying off the bank for lending me money so I can buy my GV....

Is the correct Warn part number for the Premiums for the Gen 2's - 34581?  unless I'm misunderstanding what is stated in this this thread, these will fit a Gen2 even though Warn's application chart doesn't mention it?

Just an FYI, I had the Warn hubs on my GV and I put the MileMarker hubs on my XL-7. The milemarkers are less expensive and a more stout hub from what I can see. Check out the milemarker hubs before you buy anything....
