Paragon Adventure Park Closing
« on: February 01, 2007, 06:25:08 AM »
Don't know how many folks know about Paragon on here, but it's another sad day for the sport. More corporate greed......

It looks like the last rides at the park will be this weekend...if you've never been there b4, this weekend is your last chance.  Truly a significant loss to the sport... 4200 acres of some of THE BEST East Coast wheeling.

This blows.  'Gon Zookin' was one of the first events to be held there.

Ok Guys,

Lets be Real it does blow that the park is closing. It's by far the best place to wheel  on the eastern side of the states. However putting a  Cargo Airport or Air Freight  terminal is a huge boost for the Local Economy. Face it we are a niche market and i bet that most of the people who wheel Paragon do not even drive into Hazelton.  If any of you have driven into Hazelton you it could use all the enconomic benefit it can get.  I Say it Sucks to loose Paragon but Good for Hazelton that air port means more jobs and more money.  So use your head if you are voting on the above link.

One nice thing about the Washington ORV parks is they are state run.  So if they are closed down for development, the location has to make a new park of equal size/net worth available.

Sadly, we don't have anything like Paragon.  Yes, loosing the area is good for the local economy.  But so is logging the local forest and turning the lake into a housing development.  A sad example of progress.  :(

Don't know why they can't do both. There's plenty of vacent land in that area. You need to check out the Paragon page and links to the local papers. The connection between local politicians, the land owners and developers and local lawyers is so thick it's laughable.
