Anti-Frezze leaking
« on: November 11, 2006, 11:23:11 AM »
Hey, i got a 91 sidekick 1.6 8V and it is leaking antifreeze/coolent.   It is leaking for what looks to be around the crank shaft pully,  or somwhere around the front area.   I don't think it is the radiator. . .   anyone have any ideas, or maybe i should just get some of that stop leak and try it?

cheaper the better  ;D

thanks

-Tyson

Its possibly running down from the water pump.

Naw,  90% of the time it's the water pump.. it runs down from the weep hole and is hard to tell where it's coming from. It's easy to change out.. just do it.

It is probably the pump,    they ARE really cheap, about $40-45 bucks... and they take about 30 minutes to an hour to install..

ya, dont just go with a quick cheap fix, such as new gasket or like some sort of block/alumaseal what ever it would be.  For as low of a price as it is to buy a new water pump you might as well go with that one.  Just as quddawg said, there super easy to put in, very stright foward.
