« on: January 22, 2005, 01:54:04 AM »
anyone got an axle mounted skid plate ( rather than a diff cage) to protect it?

as per this;

Has anyone else shaved their diff?  I have a spare that I've thought about doing that to, to see if it would realy make a difference.

Here's the Calmini's Diff/Truss shield for any ideas.  It's made of 3/16" steel.

I've got a con-ferr axle skid plate and truss I'd be willing to sell! Used for one day like new!

I had one of the Calmini rear skids............it never would stay in place. Always would get caught on something and then rotate down and become a "plow"!

If someone wants to either tell me how or will post I have pix of a shaved diff start to finish, along with side by side pix to compare with a stock housing. Send an email to 16ltoy|removethispart|@msn.com if you need the pix to post!

I used 1/4" plate and gained 1 and 7/8"'s of clearance.
