aftermarket tach
« on: August 23, 2006, 04:24:35 PM »
I installed an aftermarket tach on my sammy today but i think something is wrong.  It raps pretty hard at about 4 grand.  I made sure the tach was set for a 4 cylinder but it just doesnt seem to be working right.  Could it be a faulty tach.  Or could the sammy motor just be too week to push it up to 6 or 7 grand...

Not sure what you mean by "raps pretty hard" but, I have a Sun tach on my little red zook with zero problems. Did you hook up the tach to the negative side of the coil? What kind of tach and motor are you running?
