Headlight Q
« on: January 26, 2005, 06:22:49 AM »
Looking for new headlights for my 88 Sami. My question is what are the best lights on the market for the Samurai.

beams from your auto parts store, best

to an offroad mag article (don't remember
which one) but it was the only light they
tested that worked any better that OEM

I had a pair of Silverstars too, but I've seen a couple reports of them being fragile and easily burned out due to bouncing around. This is what happened to me after 2 weeks of use, so I replaced them with Wagner Xtravisions from NAPA. The light output is very close to the Silverstars and they have a reputation for being a little more rugged. Cheers, Dave

Hella conversion lamps. I swear by em. Much better pattern and you only replace the bulb, not the whole thing.

Technicly,  NO
You could get harrassed by Johnny Law for driving with your brights.
I run the PIAAs ($50) in my SideKicks. They're boarder line brighter but they are street legal and come with a sticker stating so (just incase).
If ya read some of the packages, they will say for Off-Road only or Street legal.
Anything with a lowbeam over 55 watts is Illegal.
BUt thats just what little I know.
