blew something in my motor
« on: January 31, 2005, 07:24:43 PM »
i think i blew a head gasket today, i think, i dont know yet. i haven't had time to take a good look.

theres engine oil pouring down both sides of the engine block, but seems as though its coming out from ABOVE the intake manifold. could it be the rocker cover, or is it the head gasket?

the motor still runs, but not keen on having it on.

is this a straight forward removal of the rocker cover, and maybe the head? or is there more? i dont have a shop manual, but would like some help before i get stuck into it.

thanks
Steve

You can download the Haynes manual here for what it's worth.

Do you have oil in your coolant, or coolant in your oil (making it look milky and foamy)? If it's just leaking from above the manifold, and you don't have mixed coolant and oil, you've more than likely got a valve cover leak.
