fitting a winch ...
« on: August 03, 2006, 10:49:09 PM »
I may be acquiring a Warn M8000 for my 4-door 02 Vitara. Without any winch bumpers currently out for this vehicle, the only off-the shelf solution is this:  CALMINI WINCH MOUNT GRILL GUARD, and it states it only fits winches up the 6000lbs (Warn or Ramsey).

Any ideas, tips, solutions, etc .. of how to mount this bad boy to my Vitara?

Thanks,

Jeff

I'm in the same boat as you Jeffry, I have an M8000 sitting here that I can't mount to my 2000 GV. I read that post but it looks like neither of those GV's have AC, looks like it won't work for us. Shrockworks told me they will be making a bumper but it may be awhile before they get too it. I'm ready to buy one now but there just isn't anything out there yet.  :'(

Maybe we can talk Shrockworks into letting us be guinea pigs. And I have the same feelings about Calmini from my limited experience with them (extremely rude when inquiring about all there non-existent, yet advertised, V/GV products.)

I think if enough people call or send Shrockworks an email then it may rush them up. I sent them an email and he replied within a day. I have one of theirs on my Samurai and it is the best built bumper I have ever had.

Jeff, I doubt it.  Read the post here in mrleft's message.  It's dated 2004 and they're talking about the advertised but non-existant GV bumper...and give the impression that it had been advertised for a while then.

I was talking about calling and emailing Shrockworks, they told me that they will be building one but it won't be till there is more interest. If enough people call and email them it could help speed up the process a little.

I sent an email begging them to come up with their bumper for the Vit/GV. Please, if anybody else is interested, let's get him a few definite orders ...
