Diagnostics port?

Can anyone tell me where to find the diagnostics port? I just bougt a 2000 GV this weekend and after less than 100 miles the service engine soon light is on.  >:(  I bought a code reader but can't find the port for the life of me.
2000 Grand Vitara Limited, 2" lift, 225/75-16 BFG KO's, 5.12 gears, Safari snorkel, roof rack.
1987 Samurai LWB, VW 1.9 Turbo Diesel.

Sorta by where your right leg goes as you sit there driving.  The best way to get to it is either kneel on the floor and look up under the dash or lay on your back and look up.  It's sorta tucked up behind the dash plastic.

Nope, I just bought the GV saturday.

It seems a bit early for the evaporator to go south. How many miles?

that explains why i found a spare plug when we installed the "2WD LOW" kit today :)

Glad to hear someone else is using that - I use mine every day, in and out of the garage (it's on a slope).

i think the 2wd lo is mandatory when towing a camper, it saver the clutch a lot when driwing in tight spot's ;)

Drove 400 miles today and the light still hasn't come back on.  :)

Did you change grade or brand of gas? This also causes wierd stuff to go on with the emissions system, rearly but it does happen.

That was the first tank of gas I had put in it so its hard to say. Its still hasn't come back on so is must be one of those pre set deals that automaticly comes on at a certain mileage.
