That thing has to do with the brakes.
my kit included that too.... but i didnt use it cause i was just fine....  having ABS.
Aaahh  ...... i don't really know the specific word to name it >:( >:(

but if ur car (like mine) has ABS unit, i think that u dont need it.
If you dont have ABS, u need it i think.
The work that this thing has to do, is to lower the position of the central brake unit.

Sorry for my english and hope u ll understand  8)

anyone with a better explanation please???   :)

have fun!!

I,m not sure......   but i think that the brake unit must be in the rear place under the car, somewhere near the rear axle.

Yeah, I'm not sure either but if it's the dohickey I'm thinking of it should be on the body or frame over the rear axle.  Probably some sort of a lever mechanism as well.

It sounds like you guys are talking about a RWAL (Rear Wheel Anti Lock) unit Load Sensing Proportioning Valve.  It's actually a load-sensitive pressure-limiter.  An arm is attached to the rear suspension, and moves a lever attached to the unit.  Look for it attached to the frame, just in front of the rear trailing arm, on the right.  It's used on First Gen which don't have ABS, maybe on 2nd Gen without ABS as well?

(Edited to correct error in the name)

from  your  description  i  anderstood  that  this  part  its  important  for  the  type  off vit  that i  have -grand vitara -model 03  1.6L  3doors  manual gear.

Ah, I was curious.  Didn't know you had purchased the Calmini kit.  Last I knew you were looking to peice a kit together.
Looking at that peice I'd say that it should be pretty self explanatory if you can locate the load sensing dohickey on your truck.

The funny part is I know aircraft mechanics who have said that.

load sensing dohickey =  the item that the bracket should lower (we think)

In case my slang didn't translate dohickey is a slang word for thing, thingamabob, whatsit, the thingy, etc.  When you don't know the proper name of an item that's a word some people use.
