Not much at all.  Between the K&N drop in filter and the 2" Magnaflow we don't notice much power loss or much of a difference.  I also recalibrated the speedo (but I need to rewire how I did it) so the trans wouldn't shift funny.  We just drove to Detroit and back earlier this week and it got about 22mpg on the highway the whole time.  That's off about 1mpg or so from stock.  Around town the wife sees 18-19 if she drives civilized, 17mpg when she wants to stomp on it and listen to the Magnaflow. :P

yea, I get about 22 or 23 miles a gallon in town but I have a manual and drop in K&N with bypassed restrictor/water trap and a couple other minor things done to the air box as well as Y back exhaust with 2-1/4 high flow cat and magnaflow. so if it goes down a mile a gallon I think I can live with that. I take it the power loss was no big deal.

do you think the MSD multi spark ignition that's on rocky road would significantly improve power and help mileage a tadd?

kind of considering it for the power but it's spendy and I'm not sure it would do much (sorry, a bit off topic)
2000 Grand Vitara.. boondox coil spacer lift w/ pro comp 2 inch lift shocks and ome struts. 225/75 R16 Kumho Mt's, powdercoated wheels, rear brake line relocation and stuff to acomodate. custom exhaust and intake along with some 1 off accesories.

Wouldn't help at all.  If you had an Kick/Track with a distributor it would help.  Ours are distributorless ignition setups.  Coil on plug and all that.  The MSD box doesn't work with our setups.  Frankly they work pretty damn well too.

no, it's for the 2nd gens, I'll find the link another time. I realize they are distributorless and stuff. I was told they didn't do much but the dude who told me that was a fool. I'll double check. I remember being in shock at the sight  of an MSD system for a 2nd gen but now I'm doubtful... I'll double check

Maybe not such a fool - I reckon if there's no defect in a 2nd Gen system, you will see no difference with an aftermarket doohickey.

possibly, but he also told me my negative travel on my zuk was not limited by the shocks and struts which it was stock and still is with the longer shocks and struts.... there is just no getting through to some people

Derrr...did I say the top of the frame? ::) :P

It's on the bottom edge of the frame on the d-side in the rear of the fenderwell.  Now that the lift is on and the thing is aligned it no longer rubs the fender liner plastic up front.  So I was a bit surprised when I heard it rubbing as I went around our circular driveway.  I played with it a bit and it turns out that if I crank the wheels all the way to the left and go the d-side tire will rub the frame there...barely.  However if I do the same to the right it won't rub on the p-side... ???





Gotta love some people.  I delayed the lift and alignment a week because the place I took it to was closed last weekend and Monday for the 4th.  I was hoping to get it lifted and done before we went downstate on the 4th.  The Sears AutoCenter up here said they could align it but "didn't know what to align it too since it was lifted."  I let them have all the rope to hang themselves with and played dumb.  What they basically told me was that lifted vehicles
A: Can't be aligned at all
and
B: Can be aligned but you have to sorta "make up" or "feel out" the best specs...

 ::)

Yeah, I was stunned speechless by the stupidity.  I countered by asking why not just use the stock specs and they had no answers for me.  Just jibbered stuff and I hung up on them.

got mine alighned by a local shop and they knew exactly what to do with the camber bolts and everything. drives much better
