if your GV has 16" rims stock, like mine, you must remove the front calipers to get the rims on >:(

-and i guess you'r gas mileage will suffer...

If you run wheel spacers and maybe clearence the calipers a little they will fit.  But JDMCRX already knows that ;)  Also the Tracker/Vitara calipers (like I have)  are a little smaller and can handle some 15's ;)

Since I am only running 29's can't really help you with how the 31's will affect you.  I love the STT's and I'm so glad I didn't settle for an AT  ;D  (Thanks AJMBLAZER for that decision  ;))
2002 4DR Tracker V6 ZR2.... 1.5"/2" coil spacers front/rear, BDS Strut Extensions, 235/75R15 Cooper STT... They ROCK!!!

With modern tire designs the loss in mpg and power by going to a MT over a AT is minimal.  Just get some MT's and sipe 'em.  Bet you never run those AT's again.

When I get my lift from you Josh, I will be running center siped 245/75/16" Goodyear MT/R
30.6 Diameter

I think the goodyear MTR is perhaps the best inbetween tire for mud/AT as long as it's siped. For such a light truck as ours, the tread life should be good, even though they use the very soft silicone based tread.
03' 2.0L CAMI Tracker w/ 1.5" Front Spacers, 2" Rear Spacers, 1 & 1/4" poly-rubber rear spacer w/ hose clamps, Monroe Crown Vic interceptor rear shocks,1/4" bumpstop extenders, 1.5" strut Extenders, removal of sway bar and strut bar + plenty of cutting for 245/75/16 Goodyear MTRs

I have to say I haven't seen or heard much good about the MT/R in the mud.

I think it's all subjective... 4 wheeler rated the MT/R quite well only behind the super swampers in their all out mud tests

however... IMO the only true mud tires are the swampers...
Mud-Terrains/MT/R/Baja Claws/Mud Rovers are all great off-road tires, but not good enough to deal with thick mud or clay. Only TSL's or better yet "Boggers" have I seen acctuality do the job with ease (at least for a DOT rated tire)

However... I like the MT/R's as their snow performance is superior than other MT designs due to their lug patten and much softer tread. Add some center lug siping, and I found that they performed better than a set of BFG AT's in the worst winter weather conditions.

Just get some good radial muds.  A TSL Radial sounds a bit extreme for what you want to do.  If you want something in the Swamper vein try the Interco TrXus MT's.  Got 'em on the Ranger and love them.  A more civilized Swamper but still with some nice lugs.

you already know that my truck is too light to pull you outta the mud...   i'm going with 31x9.5's  dont expect anything will need cutting/chopping/trimming anywhere.  i better not!

maybe, they're so close in size it's hard to tell,  check this link http://www.zukiworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=12560.0  another factor is also that i will be sticking with my stock 6inch wide wheels for now so things will be inside the fenders.
