2.5 and 2.7 liter oil pan compatibility?

2.5 and 2.7 liter oil pan compatibility?

Anybody know off hand if the 2.7l and 2.5l oil pans are the same? 

The 2.7 motor I pulled has had its pan repaired in the past, looks like it was probably a careless jack handler's work.  While its out, figure I'll replace it.  Guess I could call a dealer.

I believe there the same pan,the lower pan costs about $80
I found the following on suzukicarparts.com using their online parts finder.
 Description: OIL PAN
Part #: 11520-85F10
Price: $62.51
Categories:

Looked at suzukicarparts.com, thought they listed the lower pan for 180.  That concerned me.  Then you said 80.  That sounded better.  Called a dealer, parts guy quoted $56.  Told him to place the order.  Not cheap, but I wouldn't be able to sleep knowing that splotch of JB Weld was down there keeping everything in..

I still have EVERYTHING left, at the moment.  Reassembly hasn't quite begun yet..  I know I'll be taking engine/tranny/tc, shifter, stereo, wiring harnesses, front and rear axles/brakes/wheels, front (and perhaps rear, we'll see) springs, mirrors, parking brake lever, pedal assembly, under hood insulation, firewall insulation, under hood mercury light, exhaust.  I'll probably take the ABS equipment.  I might take some rear air components.

Does that leave anything you'd have interest in?  Seats, glass, air bags, steering, plus a bunch of displaced 2003 Tracker componentry, I guess.

So......I've got a line on a 5-sp from an XL-7 at a junkyard.  What would it take to use that instead of the auto?  I'm thinking it would just be the tranny, the ECM and the correct flywheel for the motor.  I would think the chassis wiring harness from the 5-sp Tracker should work.  Am I missing something major? 

I should probably just get back to work.  The last thing I need is to drag this project out any longer..

I'll get to swapping the rear end (hey-oh!) in the next few days.  If I don't end up needing 'em for some reason, shouldn't be a prob.

Thanks much! I bought a rear brake set-up from a GV and the ass...e's cut the brake cables.
I'm in the middle of swapping over the brakes and axles now.

I don't think so but just to make sure, does your 03 5spd 2.0L have the steel front diff and 3rd?
2002 4DR Tracker V6 ZR2.... 1.5"/2" coil spacers front/rear, BDS Strut Extensions, 235/75R15 Cooper STT... They ROCK!!!

If you ever think you will want to put some crawler gears in your transfer you can't do it with the manual or the 5spd auto.

If you ever think you will want to put some crawler gears in your transfer you can't do it with the manual or the 5spd auto.

The auto won't work either. You need a GV automatic to run the Sidekick crawler gears in a GV or Sidekick t-case. GV automatic will bolt to and plug into XL.7 engine. That is what I have in my Sidekick. XL.7 2.7 engine/GV auto 4-speed transmission/Sidekick T-case with Calmini crawler gears - no mods or adapters needed.

Hmm... so the XL-7 4spd autos can't take the gears either. Living and learning  :)
