Hi all,

I ve installed a calmini 2,5'' susp to my GV-3d 1600cc.
After a few months i broke the frond housing but not the third member.
The carrier was broken, ring, left side shaft ect.....  and i bought the steel housing and third from the 2500cc model and everything is just fine!!
So, i want to know if there will be any problem by putting the calmini LSD (10 bolt) in the frond diff.
For sure, the pump line has to be away, or something else that i dont know...... for sure it won't have the chance to work with the LSD.
Any ideas about the problems that i may have to solve by doing that mod?
Has anybody done this in a GV?
Will the "brain" of the car recognise that something is not correct with the air-pump when i ll remove it from the third member and try to move in 4x4 mode?

I'm not sure if the Calmini LSD would work. Have you looked at this one?:

It's basicly a sidekick diff with a lockright in it. The price seems rather reasonable too.
As there are Sidekick people who get theire diffs and lockers into a GV third and housing, I would think there is no problem, other than that you say about the electronics. I've read a golf tee in the air tube is enough.

As i know, many kick owners use the LSD in the frond but i don't even know 1 guy with a GV who use it too.
I think that there will be no problem at all cause as u said many kick guys use it with GV steel housing and third.
I was just wondering about the air-pump and its possibility for a "fault engine code" when it will not be used anymore.
Dont really know about that.

On the other side i made thoughts about ARB's too.
Will an ARB fit on the frond steel third that i have now?
I have the 26 spline shafts that required.

A good choice for me is a LSD at frond and a ARB rear..... but with 2 ARB's u can do more things

It will fit in the steel 3rd member, but you need to swap out the internals to remove the air actuated diff components.

Here they just swapped the GV 3rd with a kick 3rd

according to the first article all you need to do to the air pump is

5. Finally, plug the metal air line. One method is to stick a golf tee into a piece of rubber hose and install it on the metal air line so it can build pressure and make the 4WD light come on.

It would be nice if you could just remove the airpump and correct the wiring, not sure how to do that though.
