HELP!!

HELP!!

So I'm putting new brake shoes in my rear drums. But the spring's in there are a real pain in the *ss to get back in. Please tell me there is a way to make it easier because I really can't get 'm back in  >:(  >:(

I assemble the springs on the shoes first. Then I locate one shoe and pull the other one into place

Why not do disk brakes and forget about all the springs?  ;D  I'll have mine done this weekend. 8)

Use a brake spring multi tool.

brake sping tools r like $25 at the parts store it will make ur life a lot easier. make sure the ones u get have instructions. because a screw driver can be used in the same fasion.

the needle nose vise grips are the best, they don't slip off the spring & you can twist enough to get into the various holes

It's in the planning stage now  ;D

There's gonna be drum brakes to work on for quite awhile for me on one thing or another & the brake spring tools make disassembly & reassembly quite a bit easier. Good to have around. Glad you got 'r done without, though!

I use side cutters.  make sure the adjuster is fully deadjusted first
