Hi guys, I still cant get rid of this code 15!, I tried everything, the truck idles like crap, runs rich, im getting like 12mpg on the highway,

1. tried 2 different sensors, no help,
2. tested wiring to sensor, no shorts, 4 volts +- at plug.
3. Pulled ecu, popped off the cover looks like new inside, no leaky caps, no burns, bad solder joints, etc..

The only thing left is trying a new ecu itself right?
these are known to get very flaky?

Anyone know where to get a deal on a new ecu? everyone seems to want like $180+!!
and to send mine off for repair will run me almost as much as a new one but with downtime.

The problem is that i dont know many people locally that might have a spare to try out, ;(
Especilly a 94-5 speed.

You could call Trail Tough. I think they do repairs for ECU's.

Does anyone who repairs ECU's actully have a test set to test the computers or just look and find pysical problems and fix those?

reason im asking is that i think i might have a bad chip or somthing that cant be see with the naked eye, the board looks brand new and myself and my father who has been doing circuit boards for 30 years couldnt find a problem.

I don't think it's the ECU

Have you checked your fuel pressure?
Is it a 8V or 16V ?
Replaced the O2 sensor ?
in a 16V have you checked the MAF ?
in an 8V have you checked the MAP hose ?
What is the cylinder compression ?

94 8-valve,
no other codes except for code 15.
I can reset and 60miles later BAMM!, check engine light again..
new fuel filter,
plugs,etc etc etc etc....

Looked at the book I have on the HDD
Code 15 is high coolant temp, are you
having cooling problems ? is the temp
guage working ? there is also an instruction to
check the wiring at the ECM after the cooling
problems are fixed

I was having trouble with rough running, I found
the MAP sensor hose had fell off, once on the bad
behavior was gone, give that a good look over

Have you measured the resistance of the WTS? 5V on the plug is good, short the pins and see if it drops to 0.5V.  Ask your father if he has a resistor around 2.2K, place that across the plug and see what voltage you get then.
