Master cylinder/brake booster upgrade
« on: September 17, 2005, 02:43:08 PM »
I've just got myself some 16" rims with internal pneumatic beadlocks for my lwb Kick. ;D This will enable me to also upgrade the front rotors and calipers to the larger size fitted to the Sport and GV V6. What I want to know is, is the Master cylinder and/or brake booster fitted to these models larger and if so, is it a bolt-in swap? Are there any other bolt-in swaps anyone knows off for more braking performance?

With previous brake changes, including Heather
and Nathan's SAS with Toyota Land Cruiser axles
a change in the master cylinder was not needed.

One of the best brake mods I made was just changing
the front disk calipers to a set of 4 Door with the vented
rotors, I can lock up 33" Swampers on the street with these

As it's a 4door I already have those plus I've had them slotted but obviously the braking performance is down from standard. For me going to the V6 brakes would be like you going to the 4door brakes plus I will be going rear disc at some point so want to make sure the master cylinder and booster are right.
