Hey, Thats a mud truck right?  so...

why isn't the rad in back???  you know what i'm talkin about :D

Stu
It's gonna have to be, from my estimates of it. Not what I wanted to do, but it's gonna need to happen because of clearance issues (unless I can find a skinny radiator that'll slide between the framerails instead of sitting on top of them).

if i where building that rig, i would.  you arn't going to drive it on the street right?

hell i have been thinking about doing it to mine even though i'm putting mine back on the street next summer.

Whenever anyone asks me if I'm planning on driving it on the street, I tell them it depends on how well it tracks ;D

I don't have the slightest idea on how to set up a rear radiator... the last time I was talking to someone about it, they told me I'd burn up my water pump. ???

If you've got some basic advice to share if it's any more complicated than just running longer hoses and putting the radiator in the back with an e-fan, then please post up ;)

yea i thought about the extra strain on the water pump, and i don't have any extra advice, but your set up it completely different from mine.

look around the net, i bet some one else have used a 4.3 in there mud truck with a rear rad.  it dosen't even have to be a zuki, i could be a blazer, ect.

but i think i would use a rad from somthing like a honda civic or something.

Couldn't you just get a high-flow water pump for the 4.3?

BTW: check your pm's and let me know! ;) ;D

I get to see that sucker every time I go to the garage. :P ;)

Hoping to get the wiring harness this week so I can start digging into that.

The only other problem with a rear-mounted radiator is that I'm out of room. I got a 25-30 gallon fuel tank out of a K1500 that takes up the entire rear cargo area... I could always mount it higher on the diagonals of the inevitable roll cage... might even get more air that way :P

On the electric pumps to put inline, got any idea on where I might start looking for those?

Digger: I thought about using a hi-flow pump, but I'm POOR ;D ;D

im not much use on where to get the inline pump as i know a place in the UK, not sure they export.   I will try dig out a link for them but if it was me i would probably have two, one going to the rad and one in the line coming out.

With your amount of lift is there no room under neath for the fuel tank or do you want it nice and high?   The only thing i think about with rear rads is when they have a boil over make sure it cant burn the driver passenger,
maybe an option in the back door with a set of fans but like you say the air flow could be an issue.

im sure when you look at it it will come together like it always does :-)

There is room for the fuel tank below the frame rails... but with the size of the tank, it would mean it would have to be installed from the bottom like the stocker, and I was after having something that could dropped through the rails and be lifted out. The tank's about 6" too wide to drop through. I dunno, maybe I'll work something out and have it under the frame.

Damn, that pump is expensive :o

If I go the rear-mounted method, I think I'll pick up a  few waterpump spares at the pick and pull to have in case it puts a lot of extra strain on the pump.
